Left behind. Luke 17:22-37

resurrection-rapture-day

Some of us may think this is fairy tale. For those of us who believe in Christ, this is no fairy tale! Do you know why I know it is not? because Jesus said so! Do you know why else? Because the world of nature tells me about a God who created the Universe. The Bible also tells me that this God walked with a group of people from Israel and showed us the kind of God He is through them.

That God sent prophets throughout history to tell us about an end time and His plan to send us a judge and a king and a restoration of things that had turned in opposite direction. Through the walk of the Israelite Nation with God, using them as a priesthood, He tells a story of redemption and a promised land found only while walking closely with Him.

That Judge and King’s name is Jesus! Who paid the price we were meant to pay and who death was not able to keep for He resurrected on the third day and is at the right hand of the Father. His payment was on behalf of all humanity and it is offered  freely but we are to accept it or reject it. We have free will to do so.

That God is also walking with His people today. Do you know that this is the main reason people believe? It is not so much because they are told in the Scriptures but this God lives today as yesterday and continues to walk with those who seek Him today as He did yesterday. As you decide to pursue Him, you will see His presence more pronounced and His love for you individually.

When will the end and the beginning be? No one knows the exact time but Jesus said for us to use wisdom as our guide. He said that as we are able to tell the weather forecast, we should be able to know when we are close to it but to be ready as it could be any day!

I don’t know about you but it is exciting! Exciting and scary! For if I love my neighbor, I am concerned about their destination. Your destination. I know I might be considered a fool by some but this is of no concern to me. I desire for all to look at the evidence and seek for answers. Do not continue to live in blindness.

Jesus said to the disciples: “The days will come when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it. They will say to you, “Look there, Look here! Do not go away and do not run after them. For just like the lightning, when flashes out of one part of the sky, shines the other part of the sky, so will the Son of Man be in His day.”

Just by looking at the list in Wikipedia, many have claimed to be Jesus and have many followers. Many of them have died and as far as we know, they have not come back to life.  Jesus said that we will not miss seeing Him when He comes back. It will not be hidden! Every one will know!

Revelation 1:7-8 says ” Behold, He is coming with the clouds and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him and all the tribes of the earth will mourn over Him. So it is to be. Amen. I am the Alpha and the Omega, Says the Lord God “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty”

He said that He had to suffer many things and be rejected by this generation before He comes. He is still being rejected today. He is still being crucified. What am I saying? There are three groups of people. Those who reject , hate and crucify Him because He makes them uncomfortable, those who allow His crucifixion by ignoring and denying Him and those who accept and fall at His feet becoming His disciples. Which one are you?

He said that in the end times or beginning of new,  just like in the days of Noah and Lot when their people were destroyed, people will refuse to believe and will continue to focus on their pleasures and on what tickles their ears! They will ignore God and the warnings even when signs are given. They will continue their futile ways.

He said: ” The one who is on the housetop and whose goods are in the house must not go down to take them out: and likewise the one who is in the field must not turn back. Remember Lot’s wife. Whoever seeks to keep his life will lose it and whoever loses his life will preserve it.”

Stay focus on Jesus! do not be selfish and seek only your good. Seek to do the will of the Master for His will is for the world to be saved. Keep doing just that! Be the good Samaritan! be the blind man who after receiving sight praises and thanks God! Be the disciples who bring the word to those forgotten! do not look back at your old life!

Keep serving your Master in whatever capacity He has equipped you! You will know as you seek Him fervently. We are not alone for we have the Holy Spirit to guide us. We can recognize His will when we are focus on Him. When you lose your life in His will as His will take over yours, You will have found it. Otherwise, He assures you that it will be lost. Trust Him!

He said: ” I tell you, on that night, there will be two in one bed; one will be taken and the other will be left. There will be two women grinding at the same place, one will be taken and the other will be left. Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other will be left.

Answering they said to Him: where Lord? and He said to them ” where the body is, there the vultures will be gathered.”

It sounds to me that those left behind are not to face a pleasurable experience. vultures are not easy on bodies. They eat meat of whatever is dead. they prefer fresh meat but will eat any even if it is rotten. This could also be a metaphor of what demons will do to those left behind.
