Father, I think they got it! did you see Satan? He is being shaken up! yeah, the seventy are really cleaning up! they are following instructions and Satan is falling from Heaven like lighting!. Heaven on Earth, as I told them to tell the people that the Kingdom of Heaven has come near to them!. Do you think Father that they understand what it really means?. That It is not a faraway place like they imagine and they have access to it through Me? That when they seek it and find it they have its key and therefore a new life? Thank you Father for Handing all things to Me and thank you for proving that wisdom comes from you alone, as you always use those who rely on you and not those who rely on their own! These thoughts come from Luke 10:17-24

The seventy came back rejoicing! They said to Jesus, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us through Your name! Jesus told them He had been watching Satan fall from Heaven like lighting. I imagine Jesus must have spent a lot of time in prayer. It does not say He went with them, yet He witnessed Satan leaving kingdom property! Under new management!. Move over Satan!, God’s Kingdom is taking over!!  It was as if his butt was being lit by fire! It sounds to me like Jesus was rejoicing, but He warned the seventy to rejoice not because the Spirits were subjected to them but because their names were being recorded in Heaven.

Jesus is making sure that we understand that it is not about the power we receive we should rejoice but about what we do for the kingdom which is releasing souls from perdition and giving them life and hope through His name!. He said He had given us the power over the enemy and that nothing would hurt or injure us. Does it mean that we will not be hurt?, perhaps. Perhaps as we see later on the apostle’s lives that sometimes they were prevented from harm but ultimately they went through death and harmful conditions, right? as they lost their Earthly life. I believe Jesus is referring to full insurance protection against Spiritual harm. As we rely on Him, He protects our bodies and our soul and according to His purposes, we might go through some physical struggles as He himself did but we will come through them intact as He did!

The seventy really made Jesus proud! Perhaps He could feel a sense of hope that we were able to follow directions, to trust and obey! He joins the third person of the Trinity and praises God for such a triumph! Yes, I praise you Father, He says, Lord of Heaven and Earth that you have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent and revealed them to infants, yes, Father, for this way was well pleasing in your sight! Was He saying that God closed the eyes of the wise and intelligent? I don’t think so. I believe He was acknowledging that God uses the infants or unintelligent on their own eyes. Those who answer to God’s call and rely on His wisdom as opposed to those who are full of themselves and therefore unwilling to rely on God.

Jesus shares with them about His identity. I believe that as  Jesus was rejoicing in the fact that we were going to be able to carry His message, He was identifying Himself with humanity as well as His Divine nature! On His Divine side, He shared of how He is part of the Father and in charge of everything. In His humanity, He was rejoicing and seeing how blessed the disciples were to see this whole process of salvation and their part in it unfold, for He said: Blessed are the eyes which see the things you see, for I say to you that many prophets and kings wish to see the things which you see and did not see them and hear the things which you hear and did not hear them.

How blessed are you? Do you know it? We have the plan! we know who empowers us! we know how the story ends! Do you seek Him? Do you join Him in His efforts to bring the gospel to the people He loves and for whom He was willing to give His life? Is He rejoicing  over your work for the kingdom?! Is Satan even afraid of you? The time is short and we have been commissioned. Stand up and take up the full armor of God! don’t sleep, AWAKEN!, the fight is real weather you want to see it or not.

Ephesians 6:10-18 says:  Finally, my brothers, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.  Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For our fight is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, and against spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your waist girded with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness,  having your feet fitted with the readiness of the gospel of peace, and above all, taking the shield of faith, with which you will be able to extinguish all the fiery arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Pray in the Spirit always with all kinds of prayer and supplication. To that end be alert with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.
