Kingdom Banking (Luke 9:1-11)

Everyone was talking about it! The whole region and it’s surrounding area was shaken up! Things were certainly not normal lately! Simple men were healing the sick and taking evil spirits out!. People were going to them, they were coming to the villages, work was put aside! What is going on? Even Herod the ruler of Galilee was disturbed and had no idea how to stop it. There were rumors that dead prophets were alive. Certainly that could not be. Could it? John had to be shut up and taken down and He knew He had done so. He gave John’s head as a gift to his step daughter! That seemed good at the time! but now, It was disturbing to hear the rumors. could this man be John?  He wanted to see the man behind all this chaos but He could not. These readings come from Luke 9:1-11

This was happening as the twelve Apostles had been commissioned to bring the Gospel to the region. They were going throughout all the Villages. They had seen what Jesus could do and boy, how amazing it was!! He had said to them, “I am giving you all power and authority over all the demons and to heal diseases” “Go and proclaim the Kingdom of God and heal the sick” but, He said, you have to stay focus(My interpretation here). Do not carry stuff. It will all be provided for you. Just have faith and focus on the Kingdom. On that same note, do not move from house to house. Be willing to be contempt with what they offer you.

Show them how The Kingdom of heaven looks like. People are not sick and they are free from bondage. Tell them how God loves them and His Kingdom has come to them. He has never forgotten them and has a plan to redeem the world!. If they do not accept you, move on to the next village.They have free will but wipe the dust off your feet and let them know it is up to them to receive it or ignore it but they have been warned. When you are aware of God’s message of redemption and you do not partake of it. you are on your own.

The Apostles did just that! it was like learning to walk! It was hard to believe they could do it! but boy they really did bank on it! I am assuming they followed Jesus’s instructions to the dot and it worked! Matthew 6:33 says: Seek first the Kingdom of God and everything else will be added unto you.The Apostles could testify of this. They came back to Jesus feeling charged up! They told Jesus all that had happened! Jesus took them away to a city called Bethsaida but the crowds were so big that there was no time for rest. Our Lord Jesus as always, had mercy on the people, healed their sickness and continue with the message!

Our message is still the same today! The Kingdom of God is Near! Heaven and Earth will pass away but His Word will not pass away! (Matthew 24:35) I would encourage you to not ignore How God has been showing you He is near. I would encourage you to search for answers and to bank on His gift of mercy. Keep your eyes and ears open and you will hear rumors of another place. rumors of eternity. You will also hear rumors of evil’s presence. what are your plans for eternity? Take charge! John 3:16 says: For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. Do you believe?.
